The Guards of the Dunes are on alert
The residents of the Tahari oases are worried. So far all we had heard were rumors: bandits had found their way to the Exchange Point of the Oasis of Klima. There the caravans store the food for the oasis, and from there the salt caravans leave. Few know the way to get there, and the Salt Ubar and the Guards of the Dunes ensure it stays that way. Anyone who makes maps of the desert doesn’t live long.
So how did the bandits get to Exchange Point? This is still unclear. Either a caravan leader accepted a bribe. Or a cartographer made a map illegally.
Several caravans had recently joined forces to reach Exchange Point safely. But they were ambushed. The bandits not only managed to take prisoners, but they robbed the entire Exchange Point. Food in the climate is becoming scarce.
Salt prices have skyrocketed. The STA merchants, who largely control the salt trade, are reluctant to sell their supplies. It is not certain whether caravans will still come from Klima.
The Southern Trade Alliance (STA) has asked for help from the Gorean Merchant Association (GMA), with which it cooperates in the salt trade. Next month, a heavily armed caravan will set out to reclaim Exchange Point and make the surrounding area safe.
Until then: hoard your salt! It will be scarce and very expensive!
A Confidential Meeting with the Salt Ubar
From the Oasis of Lame Kaiila to the Oasis of Klima
Sunrise at the Oasis of Lame Kaiila. A caravan is getting ready to march to the Oasis of Klimna. What surprises will the next few days bring?
The caravan leaders decided to march in two groups. The first group had to protect the initiate. It consisted of merchants from Venna and warriors and fighting slaves from Isfahan. The second group marched along with warriors from the Oasis of Scimitars.
After a long march, the first group reached the area around the exchange point of the Oasis of Klima.- She was attacked there by a Kur. A fierce fight ensued.
After the arrival of the second group, the Kur was captured. The initiate was unharmed and was guided through the salt mines of Klima.
In a secret place in the oasis of Klima gathered the leaders of the Southern Trade Alliance, the warriors of the desert and the leaders of the caravan. A man some already knew was proclaimed the new Salt Ubar. The initiate held a small ceremony and gave his blessing.
On the way back, the caravan got caught in violent sandstorms and was torn into several groups. Luckily everyone found their way back.
Roleplay Events
We have interesting news – the residents of the Oasis of Klima have chosen a new Pasha. We don’t know yet who that is. However, we heard rumors that he is very well known in the Tahari.
A caravan leader returning from the oasis reported that there is a new tavern or inn in the oasis named after the legendary T’Zshal who first unified the salt districts.

March to the Oasis of Klima, revisited
Many thanks to all participants of the march to the oasis of Klima yesterday. My apologies that we had to deny entry to some due to the sim being too full. We’ll do that differently next time. An extra thanks also goes to the Kur as a surprise guest who caused a stir.

Attacked by bandits near the exchange point of Klima

A large caravan from the Oasis of Klima has disappeared without a trace. However, there are no reports that the Kurii have reappeared. There must be another reason. What’s particularly strange is that a few lesser kaiila from this caravan showed up at the Oasis of Lame Kaiila, but they weren’t carrying salt or saddles. We need to know the reason for this and will search the desert up to the exchange point of Klima.
We were attacked by a group of bandits near the exchange point of Klima. The fight went on for a long time as we had to force our way through the rock gate under heavy fire. We took prisoners, there were numerous wounded. The bound bandits were taken to the salt mines of Klima.
A high-ranking delegation from the Oasis of two Scimitars marched with us to Klima and supported us in the fight. Negotiations started in Klima about the accession of the Oasis of two Scimitars to the Southern Trade Alliance (STA) and about a cooperation between the Gorean Merchant Association and the STA. The negotiations lasted into the night.
